> In August 2022, news broke that the company suffered two back-to-back data breaches
I don't think it's possible to rebuild trust after this, when the entire business is about trust. If LastPass falls, everything the user has access to falls as well. Data breaches are not acceptable in the password business, not once, and surely not back-to-back. If there is a chance to rebuild trust, it surely takes more than 3 years.
Home Depot had a data breach recently and my first thought was, "again?" When I looked, the last one was 10 years ago, but my view of Home Depot is still one of a company that can't secure information. But for Home Depot, they can survive, I can still shop there without giving them any meaningful information since their core business is a hardware store, not secret management.
Was this an advertisement since it’s labeled “branded content”? I don’t know many technologists who trust LastPass. They’ve all switched to 1Password, Bitwarden, or similar services. LastPass never apologized for their handling of the breach and weren’t very transparent about it. This article is a joke.
