Author here. OqtaDrive emulates Sinclair Microdrives for the Sinclair Spectrum & QL machines from the 1980s. It also carries the Sinclair Network over WebSockets, so Spectrums and QLs can talk across the internet. The project turned 5 this year, so time for a look back. Happy to answer questions! If you don't mind descending into a rabbit hole ;-) there's also the LEC series of Spectrum rebuilds, developed over at the tliendhard forum. The hardware is close to the original, and amongst other things includes LEC memory expansion, so you can run CP/M, and the Interface 1 is integrated into the board. https://forum.tlienhard.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=4598

I cut my teeth on the Sinclair ZX81 in the early 80s. Missed the Spectrum.
I sort of want some kind of physical Spectrum nowadays; or perhaps a USB keyboard made to work like it. Recommendations? =)

Sure, there are lots.
Buy a kit, build your own, e.g. a Harlequin.

Or an improved clone, e.g. a Sizif 512.

Run it in an FPGA, such as an N-Go.

Buy an improved clone. For me the best is the Spectrum Next. I own one.

Or, buy an Arm/Linux based clone that is highly compatible and has better graphics. This is the easiest and maybe cheapest.
